Perleux® – Rejuvenating Mesogel

Perleux®

Perleux® acts through a corrective action of natural and induced cutaneous depressions, which intervenes:
In the physiological process of skin aging that leads to reduced skin hydration, alterations in the elastic fibers and collagen of the dermis, and a loss of turgor and skin tone.
In the dermal tissue repair process, in cases of scars resulting from superficial cutaneous trauma (e.g., acne and chicken pox scars)
Perleux® is indicated for the treatment of the face. However, it is particularly indicated for treating the malar-zygomatic and submalar areas. The viscoelastic and hydrating properties of HA, combined with the ability to maintain adequate levels of HA in the cutaneous tissues, rehydrate the skin and create optimal conditions for preventing and counteracting the skin aging process with favoring tissue remodeling with a subsequent corrective effect on photo and chrono aging damage and any possible scarring of the skin. HA also plays a role inside the extracellular matrix, creating the physiological conditions for the proliferation, migration, and organization of the dermal cellular components. Moreover, the intradermal administration of Perleux® and its action at the dermal layer rather than the epidermal layer, allows an optimal quantity of HA to be brought directly to the tissue being treated, to counteract the cytotoxic action of free radicals on the fibroblasts and the adipose compartments below, ensuring the efficacy of preventive and corrective aesthetic medicine treatments.

What is Perleux®?

Perleux® is a BDDE-free stabilized injectable Hyaluronic Acid (HA)-based product that offers a dual action due to its composition; it provides hydration, plumper, and fresher skin. The high molecular weight HA and low molecular weight HA chains interact with each other and are obtained through a biofermentation process without chemical modification.

How is the mechanism of action of Perleux®?

Hyaluronic acid in Perleux® is a polysaccharide which primary function is to maintain proper tissue hydration, thanks to its intrinsic ability to bind large amounts of water. The viscoelastic and hydrating properties of HA, along with its capacity to preserve adequate water levels in the cutaneous tissues, help rehydrate the skin. Additionally, HA plays a key role within the extracellular matrix by creating physiological conditions that support the proliferation, migration, and organization of dermal cellular components. Consequently, hyaluronic acid also promotes collagen production. Moreover, Perleux® injection delivers an optimal amount of HA directly to the treated tissue to counteract the cytotoxic effects of free radicals on fibroblasts and the underlying adipose compartments.

What are the ingredients of Perleux®?

Perleux® consists of 16 mg (H-HA) + 16 mg (L-HA)/ 1 mL physiological buffer solution.

What are the indications of Perleux®?

Perleux® is indicated for facial rejuvenation. It is particularly indicated for the treatment of the malar-zygomatic and submalar areas. Perleux® acts through a corrective action of natural and induced cutaneous depressions which intervenes:

  • In the physiological process of skin aging, the effects which include reduced skin hydration, the alteration of elastic fibers and collagen of the dermis, with loss of turgor and skin tone.
  • In the dermal tissue repair process, in case of scars resulting from superficial cutaneous trauma (e.g., acne and chicken pox scars).
How should Perleux® be administered?

For a global treatment of the malar and sub-malar areas, it is recommended to identify 5 points on each side (Bio aesthetic points) for intradermal administration of Perleux®:

1) Zygomatic protrusion
2) Nasal base
3) Tragus
4) Chin
5) Mandibular angle

Inject 0.2 mL of product with the bolus technique in the deep dermal/subcutaneous layers.

An initial cycle of two treatment sessions at 30 days intervals is recommended, followed, if necessary, by maintenance treatments every 2 months. However, it is suggested to evaluate the specific protocol according to patients’ degree of aging.

What does the Perleux® packaging contain?

Two pre-filled syringes with 2 needles 30G x ½”; each syringe contains the following volume:
16 mg (H-HA) + 16 mg (L-HA) of hyaluronic acid sodium salt

What are the advantages of Perleux®?
  • The slow release of L-HA from the HA hybrid complexes does not trigger the first inflammatory cytokines, making it very biocompatible.
  • H-HA in Perleux® provides a stable HA architecture in the dermis. It gives a lifting effect.
  • Increased expression levels of type I and type III collagen in fibroblasts, and type IV and VII collagen in keratinocytes.
  • Skin quality and hydration are both improved in the dermis and epidermis.
  • Increased production of endogenous HA and elastin gives the skin a more youthful look.
How is the storage condition of Perleux®?
  • Store the product at 2-25°C.
  • The content is fragile.
  • Shelf life is 2 years, correctly preserved.
