Lamean® Plus is a sterile nonpyrogenic solution of highly purified, high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate and indicated for use as a surgical aid in ophthalmic anterior and posterior segment procedures.
Lamean® Plus is supplied in a 0.8 mL syringe and contains 16 mg/mL of sodium hyaluronate dissolved in a physiological sodium chloride phosphate buffer solution.

What is Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus?

Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus is a sterile nonpyrogenic solution of highly purified, high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate.

How is the mechanism of action of Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus?

Because of its lubricating and viscoelastic properties, transparency, and ability to protect corneal endothelial cells, Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus helps maintain anterior chamber depth and visibility, minimizes interaction between tissues, and acts as a tamponade and vitreous substitute during retinal reattachment surgery. Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus also preserves tissue integrity and good visibility when used to fill the anterior and posterior segments of the eye following open sky procedures.

What are the ingredients of Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus?

Lamean® contains 12 mg/mL and Lamean® Plus contains 16 mg/mL of sodium hyaluronate dissolved in a physiological sodium chloride phosphate buffer solution.

What are the indications/is the indication of Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus?

Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus is indicated for use as a surgical aid in ophthalmic anterior and posterior segment procedures including:

  • Extraction of a cataract
  • Implantation of an intraocular lens (IOL)
  • Corneal transplantation surgery
  • Glaucoma filtering surgery
  • Surgical procedures to reattach the retina
How Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus should be administered?

Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus is injected into the eye by a specialist doctor using a sterile cannula during eye surgeries.

What does the packaging of Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus contain?

Each package of Lamean®/Lamean® Plus contains one sterile prefilled syringe of 0.8 ml, one sterile disposable cannula, and a leaflet.

What are the advantages of Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus?

Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus has an average molecular weight greater than 1,000,000 Daltons, is non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic, does not cause foreign body reactions, and is well tolerated in the eye. It does not interfere with the normal wound healing process.

How is the storage condition of Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus?

Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus should be stored in a refrigerator at 2-8°C, and protected from freezing or extreme heat. This product should be placed at room temperature for about 20 minutes before use.

What is the important safety information about Lamean®/ Lamean® Plus?
  • After surgery, a temporary increase in intraocular pressure may occur, which may be due to the presence of previous glaucoma in the eye or the surgery itself.
  • The product should be removed from the anterior chamber of the eye at the end of the surgery to prevent an increase in intraocular pressure after the operation.
  • If the sterile packaging is open or damaged, the product should not be used.
  • The unused contents of the syringe should be discarded after a single use.
  • The cannula should not be reused.
