Embella^® – Lipolytic Mesogel

Deoxycholic acid disrupts the cell membrane of adipocytes (fat cells), causing irreversible adipocyte lysis and subsequent reduction of subcutaneous fat.

The active substance is deoxycholic acid.

Each 1 mL solution contains 10 mg deoxycholic acid and 6.4 mg hyaluronic acid. Each vial contains 2 mL solution for injection.

The other ingredients are water for injection, Sodium hyaluronate, Sodium chloride, Sodium hydroxide (for dissolution and pH adjustment), hydrochloric acid (for pH adjustment), and disodium phosphate anhydrous.

Embella^® is an injectable medicine used to eliminate fat, especially the unwanted moderate to severe fat under your chin.

Embella^® will be given by a doctor directly underneath the skin (subcutaneous use).

Inject into subcutaneous fat tissue under the chin (maximum 50 injection points per session [0.2 mL per each injection point; total 10 mL] spaced 1 cm apart).

Treatment can be repeated up to 6 treatment sessions; 2 to 4 treatment sessions are usually sufficient. The time between each treatment session should be at least 4 weeks.

Each vial is for single patient use only.

Embella^® is a clear, colorless, and sterile solution for injection.

Pack size: One carton with 4 vials. Each 2 mL vial contains 20 mg of deoxycholic acid. This product is also available in single-vial packaging.

Avoid using the medicine if you are allergic to any substances in it or deoxycholic acid. Avoid using Embella^® if you have any infection in the chin or neck area. Talk to your doctor before each injection session and inform them about any illness or previous surgery, like scarring, liposuction, swallowing difficulty, or enlargement of the thyroid or lymph glands you may have. Avoid using the injection for children and adolescents. Talk to your doctor if you take or have recently taken other medicines. Talk to your doctor or nurse about using Embella^® during or before pregnancy or breast-feeding, because the effects have not been studied yet. Talk to your doctor if you are on a sodium-controlled diet. Talk to your doctor or nurse if any uncommon side effects appear.
